Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here at Freedom Church, we exist to draw to Christ, develop in Community, and to deploy to Culture.

DRAW TO CHRIST

JESUS IS THE ONE YOU WANT. HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TAKE YOUR LIFE—AS MESSY AS IT MAY BE—AND CHANGE YOU, RESCUE YOU, AND GIVE YOU A NEW LIFE IN HIM.

The Bible tells us that God went to extreme measures to demonstrate His love for you. He sent His only sinless Son to die a sinner’s death on a cross, and then resurrected Him three days later. Jesus did that for you. It was His work on the cross that satisfied the penalty for your sins, His glorious resurrection that has overcome death, and now you and I have an open door to a relationship with God—all because of Jesus Christ.

That’s the Good News. That’s the Gospel. Forgiveness of sins, salvation, and eternal life are available to all who repent of their sins and place their trust and faith in the One who can truly save, Jesus Christ. So we draw to Christ by serving Him, loving Him, listening to Him, following Him, and placing Him at the center of all we do.

Develop in Community

YOU CAN’T FOLLOW JESUS ALONE. MANY HAVE TRIED; MANY HAVE FAILED.

One of the greatest gifts God gives His worshipers is the gift of one another. He calls us to Himself first, then He calls us into an authentic Biblical community with other Christ-followers where our faith can be developed as we learn and live together.

At Freedom Church, we express this level of community in our discipleship groups (D Groups). This is where we develop in community by sharing our struggles, victories, and authentic lives with one another as we follow Jesus together.

Deploy to Culture

WE LOVE THE CITY OF BALTIMORE ALMOST AS MUCH AS WE LOVE THE PEOPLE OF BALTIMORE.

We’ve been called here for more than just a place to call home—we see the Charm City as our mission field. Jesus gave us a very clear command to spread His Gospel to the very ends of the earth, starting in our hometown. So before we think about going across the globe, let’s start by going across the street. That means we deploy into the culture because Jesus didn’t tell the world to go to church, but he told the church to go to the world.
